New Dryer Exhaust Install - San Francisco DryerFlex System
Complete new dryer exhaust system installation in San Francisco featuring 4" DryerFlex ductwork with professional wall termination and code-compliant mounting.
Completed May 20, 2026

Our team completed a comprehensive new dryer exhaust system installation in San Francisco's Castro District, featuring a complete 4" DryerFlex ductwork run with professional wall termination. This installation required careful planning to navigate the existing structure while maintaining optimal airflow performance and code compliance.
The project involved installing approximately 5 feet of rigid metal ductwork using our preferred DryerFlex system, which provides superior airflow characteristics compared to traditional flexible materials. We engineered the duct path using two 60-degree elbows to avoid any 90-degree turns, significantly reducing back-pressure and improving overall system efficiency. All ductwork was securely mounted to the foundation using bat clamps and stainless steel hose clamps, ensuring long-term stability and proper slope for condensate drainage.
The installation features a new exterior wall termination with an integrated backdraft damper that opens and closes freely with airflow. All duct joints were sealed with metal foil tape per IRC M1502.4.2 requirements, and the system was carefully leveled and tested to ensure leak-free operation. The rigid metal construction meets IRC M1502.4.1 specifications for smooth interior finish and proper gauge thickness.
This complete system replacement eliminates the fire hazards associated with inferior ductwork materials while providing the homeowner with optimal drying performance and energy efficiency. The professional installation ensures compliance with all current building codes and manufacturer specifications for safe, reliable operation.
